Gold Coast Event Centre
The Gold Coast’s newest major multi-events venue, at the Gold Coast Turf Club, is already proving successful, attracting strong demand from a diverse range of clients. The $12 million centre was opened in January when it was filled to capacity for the nationally and internationally acclaimed, Jeep Magic Millions Race Day.
Turf club chairman of directors, Mr Brett Cook, said the centre had made an impressive debut in the market, driven primarily by its quality, design to meet flexible event and exhibition needs, and location in the turf club’s precinct with extensive parking.
“The centre had its first big test at the Magic Millions Race Day when more than 100 companies and private entertainers were provided with premium catering and entertainment and enquiry has built since this time,” said Mr Cook.”The centre is already proving to be an asset for the Coast meeting corporate and community needs and will be used as the main pavilion for the Gold Coast Show at the end of August, enhancing its profile as a valuable venue for the city,” said Mr Cook.
With 2,000 square metres of uninterrupted function space, the centre is suitable for a wide range of events including trade shows, conferences, gala dinners and school formals.
The impressive structure can host more than 2,000 guests and boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Gold Coast skyline reaching from Main Beach to Burleigh Heads. It features two main guest entry foyers with large LCD screens above each entrance, which are viewable from the car park.
Internally the venue has been strategically fitted with floor boxes containing power and data points, multiple plasma television screens, data projectors and screens as well as an operable wall located in the middle of the venue to divide the room in half.
A six-metre roller door at the Southern end of the venue makes bumping in and out easy and efficient.
For larger-scale conferences the Gold Coast Turf Club has available a number of smaller venues that are ideal for use as break out rooms. These venues were extensively upgraded as part of the club’s recent $35.4 million redevelopment program.
Hard stand facilities and services are also available in the adjacent car park.
